Headaches
Some headaches start in the neck, not the head — and those are the ones physical therapy can meaningfully help.
Cervicogenic and tension-type headaches are often driven by tightness and dysfunction in the neck and upper back, frequently tied to postural habits and breathing mechanics. When that's the source, treating the head alone rarely helps — the neck and thoracic spine need to be part of the plan.
Our Approach
Evaluation looks at neck and upper back mobility, postural patterns, and how well the ribcage and diaphragm are functioning — a connection addressed through Postural Restoration® (PRI) that's often overlooked in standard headache treatment. Treatment typically combines dry needling for tight, contributing muscles with movement retraining to reduce how often and how intensely headaches occur.
Headaches that seem tied to neck or shoulder tension?
We'll find out whether the neck is actually driving them.
