Personalized Exercise Program

We believe that good therapy starts with an individualized and goal oriented approach. For this reason, all of our clients are prescribed a home exercise program that addresses the specific deficits found during their clinical exam and that helps them achieve their goals. Clients are not merely given a list of common exercises for their condition because each individual and their goals are different. To maximize the effectiveness of your therapy we match your exercises with the goals you want to achieve

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a highly effective soft tissue treatment technique which addresses pain and movement restrictions that are due to myofascial trigger points (knots in the muscles) and fascial restrictions. Dry needling uses a thin needle to de-activate knots in muscles and the fascia by directly inserting the needle into these areas. It is referred to as dry needling as there is no medication being injected into the body, just the needle. Although this treatment may cause soreness, pain relief may be immediate with most patients reporting good resolution within 1-3 days of treatment.

Sports Performance Training

Did you know many times weaknesses and movement issues that cause injury can also limit your sport performance? At Valley Physical Therapy and Sports Performance we design individualized exercise programs to address your weaknesses and movement limitations to help boost your sport performance and prevent injuries. All exercise programs are designed around your specific sports goals and needs.

Soft Tissue Mobilization Techniques

We employ a variety of soft tissue treatment techniques including Stecco Fascial Manipulation to address tightness and movement restrictions in the soft tissue which can lead to pain and compensatory movement strategies. We use only the most effective and evidence based interventions which generally produce an immediate change in pain and movement quality. We also educate our patients on how they can use these interventions to take control of their health and better manage their pain at home.

Postural Restoration Institute®️ Exercises and Interventions

Did you know that the human body is not perfectly symmetrical? Even though we appear symmetrical from the outside, there are differences in the internal organs when we compare the left and right sides of the body. The beauty of the design of the human body is these asymmetries are supposed to be balanced by the musculoskeletal system. However, in the world we live in today, there are a lot of activities we do that are not symmetrical and as a result we begin to develop imbalances in our musculoskeletal system. This can appear as curvature in the spine, uneven shoulder height, and differences in muscle size when compared between left and right. If these asymmetries become too pronounced that can result in pain, joint wear and tear, and movement compensation.

Postural Restoration Institute®️exercises and interventions restore balance to the body by identifying each individual’s asymmetries and correcting them. Treatments reposition joints that are in a non-ideal position, retrain normal movement, and restore function to the body as a whole. What’s best is patients leave with a better understanding of how their bodies work and they are given tools to help them independently manage their pain and dysfunction.
